IBM Watson Gets a Job....Oncologist
IBM partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering to develop tools to help improve decision making for diagnosis and therapy in cancer. What Watson can do is read and understand huge volumes of information. There is so much information being developed in health care in general, with Watson having the ability to understand all this information out there and the rapid increase in cpu power, Watson is making it even smarter and able to make very strong recommendations based on patients' backgrounds. In 2011, as a test of its abilities, Watson competed on Jeopardy, received the first prize of $1 million beating the long standing champion Ken Jennings. Watson is an artificial intelligence computer system capable of answering questions posed in natural language, deveolped by IBM. Many of the day functions of Watson will be to assist doctors, in there diagnosis.
