yamaha Y125 Moegi 125cc gets a amazing 188-220mpg!

One of my favorite 2012 motorcycle, a 125 cc motorcycle that is so lightweight gets 188-220mpgs. With rising gas prices i can see these motorcycle selling extremely fast. Basically the next generation of Yamaha first motorcycle! Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in November, the Yamaha Y125 concept is modeled on the YA-1, the company’s first motorcycle. But where the YA-1 weighed 140 Kg and was powered by a 2 stroke engine, this beast is equipped with a 125cc four-stroke engine, look for power in the 10 to 15 horsepower range and a top speed in the ballpark of 75 mph. Yamaha has really out done itself this time, with this extremely smooth design. One of my favorite parts of this motorcycle is its aluminum body and its small but powerful engine.

In January 1955 the Hamakita Factory of Nippon Gakki was built and production began on the YA-1. With confidence in the new direction that Genichi Kawakami (Yamaha Motor's first president) was taking, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. was founded on July 1, 1955. Staffed by 274 employees, the new motorcycle manufacturer built about 200 units per month. In July 1955, demonstrating that the model was free from defects in youth, except for the price it reached the stratospheric figure of 138,000 ¥, amounting to about 40,000 € in 2005 thats,

52964.0000 US dollars!

Here is Yamaha's first motorcycle, the YA-1, as it is proudly displayed in Yamaha Japan's "Communication Plaza".
Yamaha YA-1 (Feb. 1955)
Yamaha’s entry into the fiercely competitive Japanese motorcycle market was this sleek lightweight, modelled after the famous German DKW RT125. Measuring 1980 mm (78 in.) in overall length and powered by a 2-stroke single cylinder 123 cc 5,6 hp engine, the machine was fitted with a new 4-speed gearbox as compared with the original DKW’s 3-speed unit.
