Fireworks Over Mars: The Spirit of 76 Pyrotechnics:

The Curiosity rover and its sky crane separate from the back which helped protect both during entry in the Martian atmosphere.


Seventy-six pyrotechnic devices must fire on time during the descent of Mars Science Laboratory to the Martian surface on August 5.
